A collaboration between two Norfolk artists, Carl Medley III and Charles Rasputin, Bloom features pink roses and bold white fangs that speak to the intense energy and fierce creativity in the district.

27 Beecycles

Discover this mural nestled along the many painted works on Magazine Lane. It was created with support from the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art by Richmond artist Matt Lively for the NEON. In 2022, the mural was repaired and slightly altered.

All the Pieces Matter

Hampton artist Elizabeth Cooke returned to NEON to paint a site-specific mural full of graphic symbols and whimsy. The mural was damaged in part in 2020. In 2013 she helped beautify the old Zedd’s auction house as part of Hampton Roads, The Canvas project.

Call For Artists

Hundreds of artists have passed through NEON walls over the years. Big or small, international or your next door neighbor, high school student or college professor - artists of all kinds and skill levels are welcome to contribute to the NEON District's public art collection. Apply for project-based open calls throughout the year to join the club.
