Mr. Frog

Sam Hundley, a former illustrator and designer for The Virginian-Pilot, is a master of art using found objects, and Mr. Frog is no exception. The metal sculpture was refreshed and reinstalled on its lily pad in 2021.

Jumbo-Wumbo Technico

Jumbo-Wumbo Technico, a vibrant 32-foot sculpture by Richmond artist Tommy Fox, anchors a new sculpture park for the Chrysler Museum of Art’s entrance at the intersection of Brambleton Avenue and Yarmouth Street. The artist describes his work for the Chrysler as “a lofty whimsical tower” that uses color theory and visual contrast to create a design that Jumbo-Wumbo Technico

Open Graffiti Wall

Long-time Norfolk tattoo shop Fuzion Ink on Granby Street started a legal graffiti wall in Magazine Lane in 2015. The alley behind the tattoo shop had yet to become the art-filled destination it is today, but their gesture opened up the site to many unknown artists looking for a canvas. Volunteer at NEON Festival

Volunteers are needed on Friday, October 17 during the second evening of the NEON Festival. Two shifts are available, 6pm to 8pm and 8pm to 10pm. Jobs include pouring beer, assisting at the information booth and guiding visitors around the District. Register here. Thanks for partying down with NEON!
