First Thursdays: Hope and Every Brilliant Thing

Chrysler Museum of Art
1 Memorial Place
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Discover cool culture and canned cocktails at the Chrysler Museum of Art’s First Thursdays— an after-hours event from 6–9 p.m. Each month, explore a different theme and enjoy a laid–back atmosphere. First Thursdays offer the perfect occasion to meet new people, enjoy a free date night, get creative, or simply wind down the week. In addition to the galleries, the Museum Shop is open for retail therapy and Zinnia Café is open for good eats. This is your night!

Virginia Stage Company’s Every Brilliant Thing and Hampton Roads Trauma Informed Community Network (HRTICN) come together to offer an evening of hope, resilience, and encouragement for both teens and adults.

At 6:30 p.m., all are invited to Every Brilliant Thing,  an immersive experience that blends comedy, improv, and audience interaction to tell one individual’s story of growing up in the shadow of their mother’s struggle with suicidal depression while also learning to grapple with their own journey and life experiences. Every Brilliant Thing provides a life-affirming jolt of humanism, reminding us that hope comes from the miracles of life’s minutiae.

Preceding, Every Brilliant Thing, at 5 p.m., area teens, youth leaders/educators and HRTICN members come together to celebrate Virginia’s statewide resilience initiative and learn about an evidence-based framework for promoting HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences).
