NEON District Call for Digital Art Spring 2024
The NEON District will refresh its unique neighborhood signage system with new vinyl panels featuring local art this spring. Hampton Roads artists may submit original digital art, photography or graphic designs in print ready files for the double-sided signs with windows in which to insert vinyl artwork. Artists may submit up to 8 designs for an honorarium of up to $400 and a two-year display period.

OPEN CALL DETAILS
• Artists may submit up to eight (8) designs for consideration.
• Digital artwork accepted includes photography, computer-generated graphic designs, and high-resolution photographs of two-dimensional artworks (i.e. paintings, drawings, collage).
• Artists must provide high resolution, digital files in the dimensions below.
o Image resolution 300 dpi
o Size 14” x 21”
o Files should include a .25″ bleed for printing.
TIMELINE
• Open call goes live on Friday, March 29, 2024
• Open call closes Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 11:59pm
• Artists will be notified in May 2024
• Vinyl works will be installed in June 2024
• Artwork will be on display until spring 2026

• Basic contact information
• Brief description of the work
• High resolution digital files of work proposed
If selected for a project, you will be required to provide the Downtown Norfolk Council a W9 tax identification form and an artist grant application before your work is installed.
