TCC’s Visual Arts & Design Center and the NEON District introduce the latest exhibition to be juried by the NEON District Public Art Committee, “Renewable Energies.” Centered around the ideas of change and renewal, twelve regional artists from Hampton Roads were selected, along with visual art students from The Governor’s School for the Arts.
The exhibition will be on view in winter 2025, as we transition from winter into spring, reflecting the natural cycle of the seasons as a time to recharge and start anew. After more than a decade of investment and development, the NEON District is literally under construction, building a public realm that is welcoming, creative and inspiring. During this period of dormancy, the NEON District is also anticipating a more energetic future. The exhibition aims to create a dialogue of different perspectives and interpretations of change and renewal, representing the diversity of art emerging from the region.
Featured artists include Tess Abad, Jean Benvenuto, May Britton, Clarissa David, Jaida Garrison, Nicole C. Harp, Matt Jacob, Staci Katsias, Maggie Kerrigan, Clay McGlamory, Ben Carl Riley, Vonnie Whitworth with a special video installation by The Governor’s School for the Arts.
On view at TCC’s Visual Arts & Design Center from January 13-March 8, 2025.
